Our Aims

The Happy Teacher is a company whose aim is to help teachers in language classrooms to employ a range of teaching and learning strategies that motivate students to get involved and, thus, to acquire language more easily and successfully. The materials available on the Happy Teacher website can be used for a great variety of topic areas and offer a range of approaches for the teaching of grammatical structures. Resources can be adapted to different LOTEs, either by working with them yourself to tailor them specifically to what you are doing in your lessons, or by requesting our help to develop materials specific to your needs, your language, your classrooms, your students.

Ideas and resources provided through The Happy Teacher website and consultancy services are developed based on up-to-date research into foreign language learning and current teaching methodology. Activities are simple to implement with your students and aim to improve language skills in engaging ways, with a focus on developing communicative competency and confidence. Our objective is to help teachers to achieve best practice in their LOTE classrooms through the use of motivating activities that offer students language-rich and enjoyable learning experiences.

Some of these ideas have been developed after working with teachers from a range of schools, through brainstorming and sharing ideas – we hope that we are able to offer this wealth of experience to other language teachers, and we acknowledge the importance of the professional discussion and generosity shown amongst LOTE teachers we have worked with.
